Spring 2014 Env. Charter Meetings 16/04/2014

As part of the North Wales Environmental Outdoor Charter Group's commitment to the sustainable development of the outdoor sector, regular meetings take place to better understand how to implement environmental best practice, as well as to examine any local issues regarding reconciling conservation and recreation.

The meetings aren't just open to Environmental Charter members; anyone involved in the outdoors or simply those wishing to engage with the outdoor sector are welcome to come along.

Details of the spring environmental charter meetings, with a different guest speaker at each event, are as follows:
 
5th May - Arthog OEC, Dolgellau, LL39 1BX.
Guest speaker: Nia Hâf Jones, Marine Awareness Officer -  North Wales Wildlife Trust.
Training: Marine wildlife and conservation.
 
13th May - Plas Menai National Watersports Centre, Caernarfon, LL55 1UE.
Guest speaker: Ben Stammers, People and Wildlife Officer - North Wales Wildlife Trust.
Training: Habitat and conservation awareness.
 
15th May - Marle Hall OEC, Llandudno Junction, LL31 9JA.
Guest speaker: John Ratcliffe, Protected Sites Team Leader - Natural Resources Wales.
Training: Protected Sites in north Wales.

Each meeting will include:
  • A short intro to the environmental charter
  • The latest group developments and general sector updates
  • A chance to input into future projects
  • Networking and discussion about issues and opportunities in your area
  • An aspect of environmental training
  • The opportunity to sign the charter and receive membership certificates
All meetings will run from 6 p.m. till 8 p.m.

Copies of the newly produced waterproof iSee field guide to the north Wales coast will be available to members at each meeting. Production of these illustrated booklets was supported by the Sustainable Development Fund; administered by the Anglesey Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Other contributing partners include North Wales Wildlife Trust, Nature's Work and GeoMôn.
