Snowdonia Running Guides and Landscape Walks
Snowdonia Running Guides is run (literally) by the accomplished mountain runners, Sarah Kleeman and Iain Ridgeway. They cater primarily for runners looking to gain the necessary skills for moving safely over hilly terrain and experienced hill runners wanting to acquaint themselves with Eryri. As their website says: "Running is a great way to see more of a new area, yet getting a quality run in unfamiliar terrain can be difficult.......but when you get it right, its unforgettable."
Their range of courses cover Navigation for Fell Runners, Learn how to Run at Night and Race Reconnaissance. If you've never run off-road before but want to try it or are an experienced mountain runner, Snowdonia Running Guides
can also provide a tailor made service. For those wanting something a little slower they also provide walking and scrambling courses. To keep up to date with their adventures bookmark their blogsite
Any walk (or run) is generally enhanced by a greater understanding of the landscape you are moving through; be it the flora, fauna or forces of fire and ice that shaped its appearance. Paul Gannon, author of the well received book, Rock Trails Snowdonia
, is now offering guided landscape walks
with a focus on helping you discover how Snowdonia's scenery was formed with a look at the great glacial cwms and U-shaped valleys of the region. Paul will provide an incisive insight into the tell-tell clues on the ground about how the geology and other factors such as farming practices, have affected the mountain landscape.
His autumn walk programme starts on the weekend of September 20th/21st. For full details go to landscapewalks.co.uk
and for more info on the Rock Trails Publication go to Pesda Press
