If you would like a friendly guide to create a day to suit your needs, if you want to get off the beaten track (even on the popular peaks), explore new views, have lunch in special places and soak your feet in remote mountain pools, call me.
For the past 30 years I have walked, climbed, mountain biked and flown the mountains of Eryri I have explored mine workings, scrambled gorges and even skied some of the 3000 footers.
Working as a mountaineering instructor and guidebook writer I have come to know and appreciate Snowdonia from many perspectives Most recently I have been exploring the wonderful two or three day unofficial walk around the base of Snowdon, a real hidden gem and a perfect weekends walk.
I have lived and worked in Eryri (Snowdonia) my entire life and with outdoor instructors for parents my childhood was spent in and around outdoor centres across the national park Having tried to take a different direction I soon found that the call of the mountains, cliffs, rivers and coasts of Snowdonia drew me back.
I now live with my wife Aila and children Owen and Riannon outside Llanberis in the heart of Snowdonias outdoor scene As a fluent welsh speaker I have pride in the area in which I live and love sharing its history with visitors.
I can provide you with a local guided walk or a scramble in the high mountains, coupled with a wealth of local history, tales from the mountains and the meaning of those welsh place names.
Whether you want to learn how to navigate more effectively or discover how to use a gps, take better photographs or simply be guided from place to place.
I always carry a digital camera and provide any photographs I take as part of my fee.
You bring your own clothing, footwear and food and I will bring any necessary technical gear
Qualified to Mountaineering Instructor Award (MIA) level, I am a member of the Association of Mountaineering Instructors and am insured through Perkins Slade Ltd
