The Snowdonia Society's conference provides an opportunity to explore different viewpoints on this subject, offering talks by expert speakers, room for discussion and a field trip.
A major factor in the long-term conservation of the Snowdonia National Park is the way we generate and use energy. The ecology and landscape of Snowdonia are being affected by climate changes, which are now generally attributed to the warming effect of carbon dioxide emissions on the global atmosphere. At the same time efforts to reduce these emissions, like energy efficient building design or renewable energy installations, are often perceived as damaging the landscape.
(NB. This conference was postponed from its original February 2004 date because of heavy snowfall.)
