The Dyffryn Conwy Mountain Triathlon consists of a 13 km kayak up the Conwy Estuary from Conwy to Dolgarrog Bridge on a rising tide, then a 13 km fell run followed by an 18 km mountain bike ride. Fabian4 online entry service is the main sponsor.
The mountain bike section will use a good deal more of the Marin trail this year so expect more single track action up and down.

where you'll also find provisional route maps.
Entry limit of 70 solo entrants and 30 teams. Proceeds go to the Snowdonia Society
so it's for a good cause as well.
Competitor in last year's event and Chairman of the British Quadrathlon Association, Mark Pryor, commented afterwards: "Just a quick note to say what a fantastic and well organised race. It was a very hard race in fairly harsh weather, but that made it more enjoyable. It was great to see that the race was not cancelled because of the weather. It was well planned and organised by a team of professional volunteers that knew their stuff. Well done to all."
The organisers are keen to ensure that their triathlon has a minimal environmental impact. Refreshment stations will use biodegradable cups rather than plastic bottles and they will contain the local, excellent quality tap water.
The 2013 event forms part of the British Quadrathlon Association National Trophy Series.More
