Adventure Map
14/10/2013
Adventure Map is a new north Wales marketing initiative from eight of the region's leading outdoor activity providers. It is intended to guide you "to great new experiences in the hands of the best professionals in north Wales." Currently, you'll find Adventure Map
online and as a leaflet.
Phil Nelson, Director of Surf-Lines, one of the businesses involved, said: "The idea grew from asking how can established outdoor activity providers, that are open all year-round with buildings and staff, differentiate themselves from the one man band with a van and a website."
He added: "We thought that working together in this way, would help our customers choose their next north Wales adventure and importantly keep them in the region. When a client finishes a session or course with us, we hand them a leaflet, with details of the other Adventure Map activity providers."
This private sector initiative comprises of Anglesey Adventures, Rib Ride, Beacon Climbing Centre, Zip World, Surf-Lines, Plas y Brenin, Tree Top Adventure and the National White Water Centre.
Phil described it as: "A good example of businesses that would appear to be in competition but in fact can work together with some joined-up marketing to create a more sustainable employment climate. We're currently working on a few other ideas for Adventure Map so you'll definitely be hearing a bit more about it."
