30/04/2007 Engaging with the natural environment is all part of the attraction of outdoor recreation. Cofnod, who provide a local focus for the collation, management and provision of environmental data, are appealing for information on mammals to be sent to them for the Snowdonia Mammal Atlas.

The Aims of Snowdonia Active

We have three main broad aims:
1.
To support and develop Adventure Tourism and associated Industries in Gwynedd, Anglesey and Rural Conwy
2.
To represent and safeguard the interests of the outdoor industry and users within the region
3.
To promote awareness and understanding between visitors, businesses and the local community
The Partnership will achieve its aims through:
   
Marketing
Collective marketing of outdoor industries and adventure
tourism businesses
Promotion of allied industries through associates
Creating a brand identity and logo
Promotion of the area as the adventure tourism capital of the UK
Promotion of adventure events within the area
Increasing first time adventure visitors to the region
Increasing sustainable return visitors to the region
Actively promoting adventure tourism to all ages and abilities
Development
Developing quality employment opportunities for the local workforce
Increasing sustainable year round employment
Increasing the G.D.P of the local economy
Forming an integrated strategy with other organising bodies
Increasing the adventure facilities available for all
Working together to gain greater access in the outdoors
Encouraging all developments to be sensitive to the ethics and traditions
of the activities
Support
Helping existing and new diverse, sympathetic businesses
Acting as a collective voice in the development of adventure
outdoor recreation
Encouraging associates of the partnership to network & build a strong supply chain within the region
Exchanging feedback between the partnership and related bodies
Service
Exploring the possibilities of a quality service charter for associates
Encouraging all year availability of services
Promoting good value and a positive experience
Community and Environment
Promoting awareness & creating strategies to develop environmental, cultural & community issues
Encouraging sustainable, low impact developments
Improving environmental quality compatible with the needs of the industry
Working in partnership with the local community to promote a greater understanding of the economic, cultural and environmental benefits
